HEACOTEX HTR Self-Regulating Heating Cable

HEACOTEX HTR is a low-temperature self-regulating parallel heating cable used for freeze protection and process temperature maintenance on pipes, vessels, valves and flanges. The PTC self-regulating conductive core automatically varies its heat output in response to local pipe temperature — no overheat or burnout even when the cable is overlapped over itself, and no special skills or tools required at the termination.

The HTR family covers six output ratings to match almost any low-temperature application, can be cut to length on site, and is certified for use in both ordinary and hazardous areas. Optional tinned copper braid and choice of FR thermoplastic or high-temperature fluoropolymer over-jacket gives mechanical protection and chemical resistance for harsher installations.

Application

Frequently asked questions

What output ratings does HTR come in?

HTR is supplied in six W/m outputs at 10°C: 10 W/m (3HTR2), 17 W/m (5HTR2), 26 W/m (8HTR2), 33 W/m (10HTR2), 40 W/m (12HTR2) and 49 W/m (15HTR2). The right rating depends on pipe diameter, the temperature you need to maintain and your insulation — contact Heacotex with your details and we will recommend the variant.

Is HTR certified for hazardous areas?

Yes. HTR is certified by NEPSI (China), IECEx, ATEX, EAC (Russia), UL (USA), CSA (Canada), CCC (China) and CE — suitable for explosion-proof areas as well as ordinary non-hazardous areas. Temperature classification is T5 / T6.

What is the IP rating?

IP66 / IP67 — sealed for outdoor and damp-area installations. The cable is also UV stabilised so it can be exposed to direct sun before the insulation cladding is applied.

How do I choose between the C, CR and CT options?

The HTR…C option adds a tinned-copper braid for mechanical protection and a positive earth path. HTR…CR adds an FR thermoplastic over-jacket for protection against abrasion, impact and inorganic chemicals. HTR…CT adds a high-temperature fluoropolymer over-jacket for exposure to organic or corrosive solutions and vapours.

Can HTR be cut to length on site?

Yes, within the maximum circuit length for the chosen variant, breaker size and start-up temperature. Use the matched HEACOTEX termination, splice, tee and end-seal kits — no special skills or tools required.
